She made it through a week of Boot Camp at the Sanctuary

Good morning everyone

Admin here! We are happy to report that Icebreaker made it through her first week of Boot Camp at the Sanctuary at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

The big girl is out of shape but we are hopeful that we are turning that around!

We have taken several before pictures so that we can monitor her progress.

We first started her on the Ferno Aquapacer last Tuesday morning and she was a "trooper".
The first week is spent at ankle depth for short amounts of time.  She got tired quite quickly and we didn't want to push.  Her groom reported that she enjoyed afternoon naps on the days where she "worked out".

We look forward to monitoring her progress and getting her in shape!

If you would like to see her "in action"- she is on a set schedule every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning at 8:30 AM for now.

First time at a walk.. a little "wobbly" but she was a good sport!

Ankle Deep for 5 minutes

The night before- my first day of Boot Camp

Straight from the horse's mouth:

"Hi everyone

My name is Icebreaker.  I am a 17.1 hand dark bay American Warmblood mare...
According to my papers, I'm 13.... but I must honestly say that I feel older than that right now.
They say you gain 10lbs for each baby you have... well trust me, I'm no exception even though we will all agree that the weight isn't the true problem! It's more of a LOCATION issue at this point :(

Things are where they don't belong (to be read: my hind end just looks terrible and I literally have a gut at this point).
I was sent out on a lease as a broodmare 5 foals ago due to a small tear in my digital deep flexor tendon.  I will admit that I was all for it- eating all day, running around, no more counting strides or getting clipped; it sounded like heaven.

Well, I'm back and ready to go back in the show ring (mentally that is).  I used to the children's/adult's hunters and really am ready to get back to work.  Mommy-hood has been rewarding, don't get me wrong... but I'm ready for a change!

I have reluctantly agreed to do a "before photo shoot" and you shall witness these here... online! I am mortified at the idea of people witnessing this!  I won't lie- I did go get my hair done... I figured a good trim job may just differ people's eyes from my sagging hind end.

Anyways- the plan is for me to follow a "strict workout regimen" 3 days per week for the next 60-90 days... The Sanctuary at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center has designed a brand new fitness boot camp and they are using me as their "test". Let's hope I don't disappoint (or I shall die trying to please)!

Keep up with my blog to see how I handle this, have access to exclusive photos and videos... and monitor my progress! My hope is to inspire others to follow my footsteps... and get in tip top shape!"
